OREANDA-NEWS  US President Joe Biden on Sunday discussed with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky the events in Russia, Ukraine's military actions and further American assistance to Kiev, according to a statement from the White House.

"They discussed Ukraine's counteroffensive. The leaders also discussed recent events in Russia," the document says.

It is noted that Biden reiterated "unwavering support from the United States, which includes assistance in the field of security, economy and humanitarian aid."

On June 23, the head of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced that the Russian military had struck the positions of the group. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation denied these statements. Later, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office opened a criminal case against Prigozhin "on the fact of organizing an armed rebellion."

The day before, on Saturday, negotiations took place by phone between the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Prigozhin, as a result of which he accepted a proposal to stop the movement of Wagner fighters through Russia. A message about this was distributed by the press service of the Belarusian president.

After that, the head of Wagner announced that the columns of the group would return to the field camps.

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the criminal case against Prigozhin will be terminated, he will go to Belarus.
