OREANDA-NEWS  Former US President Joe Biden asserts that Donald Trump is not fulfilling his duties, is weakening the unity of NATO, and is attempting to establish connections with the leadership of Russia.

"To be honest, I believe that Trump has performed a subpar job in the interests of the United States," Biden stated in an interview with ABC.

Biden also voiced his concern about Trump's public display of any association with the Russian leader, which he sees as a threat to the unity of NATO.

Unlike Trump, who is known for his criticism of NATO and calls for European members of the alliance to increase their defense spending, Biden took the opposite approach. At the Munich 2021 Conference, he stressed that "the United States is fully committed to the NATO alliance," and said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "seeks to weaken both the European project and the alliance itself."
