OREANDA-NEWS  Russian cosmonauts congratulated the residents of the country on Russia Day. An appeal from the International Space Station (ISS) was published by the Roscosmos state Corporation on Telegram.

Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Sergey Mikaev and Andrey Fedyaev recorded congratulations on the background of the national flag. "Together we are making our country a better place, preserving its great historical past and increasing wealth," Mikayev said.

Roscosmos noted that employees of the state corporation's enterprises continue the work of the founders of Russian cosmonautics. This is confirmed by the test launch of the Soyuz-5 rocket with the world's most powerful RD-171MV liquid engine.

Earlier it became known that multiple record holder and extreme athlete Sergey Boytsov made a parachute jump from the Mercury Tower on the territory of Moscow City. The jump was timed to coincide with the celebration of Russia Day.
