OREANDA-NEWS Liners cruising in the Mediterranean Sea are forced to change routes due to the aggravation of the Arab-Israeli conflict, some changes affected Russian passengers, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported on Wednesday.

"Due to the outbreak of a new conflict in the Middle East, a number of cruise companies that visited Israel during cruises on the Mediterranean Sea were forced to urgently leave its ports. On October 7, Carnival Corporation (CCL) and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) liners were in the port of Haifa. Their passengers, who had already disembarked by that time, were urgently urged to return on board in order to leave the port as soon as possible," the report says.

As noted in ATOR, now cruise liners temporarily do not enter the ports of Israel (on the Mediterranean Sea these are Haifa and Ashdod), some flights have been canceled. On October 9 and 13, all short cruises on the Rhapsody of the Seas liner of the Royal Caribbean cruise company, which started from Haifa, were canceled.

"In the near future, instead of Haifa, the liners will call in Turkey (Bodrum and Alanya are announced), as well as in Limassol in Cyprus. Issues with tourists who planned to complete the route in Israel will be resolved on an individual basis," the message says.

The route of the MSC Musica liner of MSC Cruises was also changed, which was supposed to enter the Turkish port of Kusadasi on October 10, and from there go to Haifa. He will finish the cruise on October 12 in Antalya, from where Russian passengers will be able to fly home. The cruise operator promises to refund the money for the failed route to the Russians who were supposed to go on a cruise from the port of Kusadasi on October 10, ATOR reports with reference to the general representative of MSC in the Russian Federation - the tour operator PAC Group.
