OREANDA-NEWS  The order awarding Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin, the father of the President of Russia, was signed by Leonid Govorov, Marshal of the USSR and one of the authors of breaking the siege of Leningrad. The details of awarding Putin's father were revealed by RIA Novosti.

"On behalf of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, for the exemplary performance of combat missions and the valor and courage shown at the same time, I award the medal for Military Merit to Red Army soldier Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin," the document says.

It is noted that Putin's father received the appropriate award for his participation in the battle of Nevsky Prospekt during the Great Patriotic War.
