OREANDA-NEWS  Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, commented on rumors about the European Union's (EU) plan for centralized gas purchases.

"Ursula von der Leyen (head of the European Commission - ed.) did it with vaccines. Now she wants coordinated gas purchases across the EU. She uses every crisis in the same way: she weakens European states, centralizes power in Brussels and imposes expensive and erroneous decisions on everyone else," Dmitriev wrote on the social network X.

So the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund commented on the publication of Politico in the same social network that the European Commission intends to resume coordinated pan-European gas purchases, as the conflict in the Middle East increases concerns about supplies.
