OREANDA-NEWS   An Egyptian delegation led by the President of the Arab Republic Abdel Fattah al-Sisi arrived in St. Petersburg on Wednesday to participate in the Russia-Africa summit, a TASS correspondent reports.

The presidential plane landed at Pulkovo airport. Earlier, Russian presidential aide for Foreign Policy Affairs Yuri Ushakov told reporters that on the day of arrival, the Egyptian leader will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Egypt is part of an initiative group of seven African countries working on a plan for a peaceful settlement of the situation around Ukraine. Al-Sisi advocated the intensification of international actions to prevent and contain the economic consequences of the crisis on the world economy and developing countries, affecting the food, energy and financial markets. It was agreed that during the Russia-Africa summit at the end of July in St. Petersburg, the mission will continue consultations with the Russian side.
