OREANDA-NEWS  Yaroslavl authorities have declared a state of emergency after the collision of the ship with the pier, the mayor of the city Artem Molchanov said in a telegram channel on Wednesday.

"Together with colleagues from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, we decided to introduce an emergency mode. I thank the special services for their lightning reaction," he wrote.

In Yaroslavl on Wednesday, in the Tveritskaya Embankment area, the motor ship "Moscow-208" collided with a concrete pier. About 100 people were evacuated from the ship. Initially, three victims were reported. Then the authorities reported an increase in the number of victims to 12, of which seven were hospitalized.

The Transport Prosecutor's Office and the TFR are conducting a check on this fact. The causes of the incident are being established.
