This is evidenced by the data of the Environmental rating of the subjects of Russia in the autumn of 2018 of the public organization "Green patrol”.

According to the results of the autumn rating, Kursk region (4th place) rose by one point, followed by Belgorod (5th), Murmansk (6th) and Magadan regions (7th place).

Moscow improved its environmental performance by four positions (8th place). Chairman of the Board of "Green patrol" Andrei Nagibin noted that the capital returned to the top ten. Earlier she left it because of complaints of residents of VAO on air pollution with hydrogen sulfide.

"It was found that the sources of the smell are outside Moscow, and the content of hydrogen sulfide did not exceed the maximum permissible concentrations. Although it is unpleasant to smell, but the damage to health will not cause. And on other environmental issues, such as the improvement of the city or landscaping, the efforts of the capital's authorities deserve the highest assessment," he said.

The Republic of Komi, on the contrary, fell by three points (9th place). Closes the top ten St.Petersburg (10th place).

Sverdlovsk region (85th place) became the region with the worst ecological situation. Next come the Chelyabinsk (84th place), Irkutsk (83-e), Moscow (82nd) and Nizhny Novgorod region (81-e a place).

"Notable successes in environmental protection show Chelyabinsk and Moscow region. However, the amount of negative information accumulated during the rating does not allow them to rise yet," the ecologist says.

In 80th place was the Republic of Buryatia, followed by the Orenburg region, which fell in the fall just three points (79th place). Bryansk region, on the contrary, improved its position in the ranking by three points (78th place). The ecological situation remains unchanged in the Krasnoyarsk region (77th place). The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) fell by two points (76th place).

For the first time in a long time in the top ten did not get the Jewish Autonomous region (75th place). According to the rating, it has improved its environment by three points.

Earlier, "Green patrol" presented the environmental rating of Russian regions in the summer of 2018. The Tambov region, the Altai Republic and the Altai territory were recognized as the regions with the most favorable ecological situation. Outsiders of the list were Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Moscow and Bryansk regions.
