OREANDA-NEWS Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Artem Kiryanov told the Izvestia newspaper that foreign research companies studying commodity markets may be included in the list of organizations whose activities are undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation. This proposal was included in the draft amendments to the law "On the basics of state regulation of trade activities of the Russian Federation".

According to Kiryanov, the structures created by such companies to circumvent Russian laws will receive the status of foreign agents. The deputy noted that in the conditions of open information and economic confrontation with Western countries, it is important to eliminate the threats of uncontrolled data collection of Russian citizens.

"We need analytics that we will independently process on our territory," the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee said.

Kiryanov pointed out that foreign research companies have already consulted with leading lawyers in Russia and abroad. According to him, they are currently looking for a loophole in the future law. Among them are Nielsen, GFK, IQVIA and IPSOS and other well-known consultants.

Prior to that, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications Alexander Khinshtein said "To the Newspaper.Ru", that in the conditions of the information war against Russia, it is unacceptable to turn a blind eye and voluntarily supply information about the Russian population, everyday life, health and consumption issues abroad. Commenting on the introduction to the State Duma of a bill designed to limit the participation of foreign companies in research on the Russian market, the parliamentarian noted that if it is adopted, the bill will equalize the rights of foreign research and domestic companies.
