OREANDA-NEWS  The UK will impose additional duties on imports of nitrogen fertilizers from Russia and Belarus from July 18, the country's Ministry of Commerce said.

The rate will increase gradually over three years, similar to the measures taken by the European Union. Thus, from July 18, the additional duty rate will be 10%, from July 1, 2026 - 20%, from July 1, 2027 - 35%.

The duty common to all importers of nitrogen fertilizers in the UK ranges from 6% to 6.5%, depending on the product.

In March 2022, the UK imposed additional 35% duties on imports of key goods from Russia and Belarus. They apply to all types of fertilizers except nitrogen fertilizers.
