OREANDA-NEWS German medicine for high blood pressure has stopped being supplied to Russia. This is reported by E1.RU .
The prescription drug "Attento" for pressure control has been discontinued in Russia since the fall of 2023. According to doctors, it is not easy to find an analogue for the medicine, since it contains two active ingredients at once.: Amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil. Therefore, doctors prescribe two other drugs to patients with essential hypertension instead of German pills.
Attento is currently out of stock, and there are no plans to ship it to Russia in the near future.
"Unfortunately, some drugs do not have generics and alternatives, but Attento is not one of them. I asked the Berlin Chemie representative office for information on whether the drug would be returned. I was told that deliveries to Russia are not planned until the end of 2025," said cardiologist Krestina Bochkova.
In the summer of 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that the Russian market for drugs and medical devices is growing both in monetary and physical terms. According to her, 63 percent of medicines sold in Russia are produced in the country. This is every third package out of five consumed by citizens. Almost 46 percent of all names of medicines, including vital ones, are produced in Russia in a full cycle, including the synthesis of the substance.
Earlier, Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko promised that in case of a risk of shortage of drugs needed in Russia, decisions will be made on their accelerated delivery to the market. We are talking about generics or biosimilars, he explained.
