OREANDA-NEWS A giant sea turtle was rescued off the coast of Primorye. The animal got entangled in a fishing net and could not get out on its own. The video of the rescue operation was published by the Telegram channel Primorye | Vladivostok News.

The incident occurred in the Perevoznoy Bay of the Khasansky district. The footage shows how the turtle is trying to free itself from the dense green net that has entangled its body. The animal actively resisted, so at first it had to be pulled up to the boat using a long pole with a hook.

After that, a local resident took a knife and began to cut the ropes. "She's very big and strong," one of the boat's passengers said off—camera.

There were so many nets on the turtle that a caring man from a passing boat joined the rescue. The men began to cut the ropes from both sides and gradually rescued the "sea beauty" from the trap.

When the turtle was completely freed, the witnesses of the rescue shouted joyfully and escorted her into the sea. The animal immediately swam away from the boats.

"According to eyewitnesses, the size of the animal is really impressive, most likely, it accidentally swam to the shores of Primorye," the channel's publication says.
