OREANDA-NEWS GOST for beer drinks has entered into force in Russia, which sets new requirements for foam height and durability. The document was approved by Rosstandart, TASS reports.

The new document clarifies the requirements for foam height and foam resistance at the level of 15 millimeters and 1 minute — they have decreased by two and three times since the last GOST, respectively. For beer drinks containing juice and non-alcoholic beer drinks, the foam height will now be at least 20 millimeters, and the foam resistance will be at least a minute. The permissible deviations from the volume fraction of ethyl alcohol for a beer drink (excluding non-alcoholic beverages) will be 0.5 percent.

Beer drinks under the new GOST can be produced from beer, which must be at least 40 percent, or beer wort made from brewing malt (at least 40 percent by weight of raw materials) with the addition of various fruit, vegetable, vegetable, spicy and aromatic raw materials that are not allowed for beer production. It is allowed to use a larger amount of sugar-containing products than beer.

Earlier, Rosstandart adopted a new GOST for ice cream, milk and cream ice cream. According to the updated standard, the mass fraction of fat in cream ice cream should start from 8 percent, while in ice cream — from 12 percent, and in milk — from 0.5 percent.
