OREANDA-NEWS In Khakassia, it was allowed to euthanize stray dogs. The Borus Telegram channel reports on the decision taken by the regional parliament.
The law was passed by the votes of 30 deputies with ten abstentions. It will enter into force in April 2025.
The document allows for the deprivation of life of stray animals that will not be able to find an owner for a certain period of time. This measure will be resorted to if the dog has unmotivated aggression.
Earlier, a number of Russian regions agreed on similar measures — laws were adopted in Chukotka, Altai Territory, Astrakhan Region, Buryatia and Transbaikalia. The head of Magadan also instructed to prepare the relevant amendments.
