OREANDA-NEWS Three residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, who previously received Russian citizenship and then were convicted of serious crimes, will leave the country after leaving the penal colony.

For the first time in the region, a decision was made to terminate Russian citizenship for crimes, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported.

Three men born in 1976, 1994 and 2001, convicted of drug trafficking crimes, lost the right to be called citizens of the Russian Federation. The sentences for drug trafficking were handed down by the Sverdlovsk District Court of Krasnoyarsk - the defendants were sentenced to various punishments, including imprisonment.

The passports of citizens of the Russian Federation will be taken away from the convicts. After serving their sentence and leaving the colony, the mentioned men are obliged to leave the country. If former citizens do not do this voluntarily, the police will take harsh measures.
