OREANDA-NEWS  Germany has repeatedly crossed the "red lines", violating its own taboo on the supply of weapons to conflict zones. About this said Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev.

According to him, Germany supplies Ukraine with a lot of ammunition, air defense systems, self-propelled howitzers and Leopard tanks. In addition, Berlin is promptly replacing German tanks that were hit during the fighting in order to contribute to the Ukrainian counteroffensive. "Hotheads in Germany still cherish hope for its successful promotion. However, it is gradually melting," Nechaev said.

At the same time, the ambassador noted that Germany does not join the "fighter coalition" for two reasons: Berlin does not have the American F-16 fighters required by Kiev and it is aware of the risks associated with the use of Western aviation during the conflict in Ukraine. "As for the supply of long—range missiles, so far this niche is being filled by the British and the French," Nechaev explained. Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow would consider the very fact of the transfer of American F-16 fighters to Ukraine as a threat in the nuclear sphere. He also stressed that the United States and NATO by their actions create a threat of a direct armed clash with Russia.
