OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Economic Development (Minek) plans to tighten the conditions for estimating greenhouse gas emissions. The corresponding draft is published on the portal of draft normative legal acts.

From 2025, enterprises with emissions of more than 50 thousand tons per year will have to transfer data to the register of objects polluting the environment. Thus, the number of companies required to report on greenhouse gas emissions will grow to 21.8 thousand. In 2023, the reporting requirement applied to organizations producing over 150,000 tons of harmful emissions annually. Last year, 1,023 reports were sent.

According to conservationists, Russia is one of the world leaders in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. For half a century, the temperature in the world has increased by one degree, while the temperature in Russia has increased by 2.5 degrees.
