OREANDA-NEWS The first cases of tick-borne encephalitis infection were detected in Russia this year, more than 1.7 million Russians were vaccinated against the disease, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported.

""More than 21.7 thousand people have applied to medical organizations in connection with tick bites. The first cases of infection with tick-borne viral encephalitis have been identified," the report says.

According to the latest data, almost 1.73 million people were vaccinated against tick-borne viral encephalitis, whereas last year about 1.4 million were vaccinated during the same period, the press service said.
