OREANDA-NEWS  In 2022, the amount of high air pollution in Russia has halved. This is evidenced by the study of the audit and consulting network FinExpertiza, a copy of the material is at the disposal of <url>. Based on data from Roshydromet, experts found out that 209 such incidents were recorded in total last year.

In 2022, 201 cases of high and eight cases of extremely high atmospheric air pollution were detected in Russia. This is two times less than in 2021, when the number of environmental incidents was a record, and by 122 cases, or 37 percent less than in 2020.

This was largely due to the reduction of atmospheric pollution in Norilsk: the negative impact on the atmosphere from local enterprises has decreased to a minimum. Among the Russian regions, the largest number of dangerous air pollution was detected in the Samara, Irkutsk, Orenburg, Sverdlovsk and Kemerovo regions, Buryatia, Trans-Baikal and Krasnoyarsk Territories.
