OREANDA-NEWS  The circulation of books and brochures published in Russia in the first quarter of 2023 fell by 23 percent year—on-year to 69 million copies. Kommersant writes about this with reference to the data of the Russian Book Chamber.

According to the publication, the number of titles for the period also decreased by 13 percent — to 26 thousand units. The leaders are the publishing group AST, Eksmo and Enlightenment.

In addition, the total circulation of bound books and brochures fell by 31 percent to 23 million copies, the number of titles by 12 percent to 9.5 thousand. The circulation of reprints decreased by 28 percent to 19 million copies. The number of items decreased by almost 23 percent — to slightly less than 3.4 thousand units.

Earlier it became known that over the past year books have risen in price by 15-20 percent, and by the end of this year their cost will increase by another 15 percent.
