OREANDA-NEWS   The Russian construction industry is heavily dependent on foreign workers. This was stated by the head of the association "National Association of Builders" (NOSTROI) Anton Glushkov, quoted by TASS.

Every sixth employee of a Russian construction site is a foreigner who came to work in the Russian Federation, he said. Most of the migrants in this industry are from Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Currently, the total number of foreign workers in the country is estimated at 6.7 million, Glushkov concluded.

The most active influx of migrants in the last decade was recorded in Russia in 2024, he added. Mostly foreigners from neighboring countries came to the country to work. Last year, 4 million migrants entered the country, and 3.5 million left the country. "An increase of half a million is a record for the last 10 years," Glushkov concluded.
