OREANDA-NEWS  In Russia wanted to tighten air quality control after Russians complained about fetid exhaust from enterprises and the smell from landfills. With such a proposal, the Prosecutor General's Office appealed to the Ministry of Natural Resources, Izvestia writes.

Currently, laws in the country regulate only the presence of harmful substances in the air. However, when people suffer from pungent odors, the control authorities do not have a legal framework and technical capabilities to identify the source, composition and bring the perpetrators to justice, the Prosecutor General's Office explained. The ministry also proposed to supplement the list of pollutants that are subject to state regulation.
