OREANDA-NEWS The course of the special military operation (SVO) may change after the shutdown of the Starlink satellite terminals in Ukraine. This was stated by military expert Yuri Knutov in an interview with the newspaper "Paragraph".
"A significant part of the drones that operate in the near rear, on the line of contact and in the Crimea, use these channels. Disabling Starlink will change the configuration at the front not in favor of Ukraine, and we will have the opportunity to actively develop the offensive," the analyst said.
According to Knutov, the transition to analog data exchange formats will make the Armed Forces of Ukraine completely transparent to radio interception systems and vulnerable to Russian electronic warfare systems.
This will not bring down the front of the Armed Forces of Ukraine immediately, but it will significantly complicate the situation of the Ukrainian army.
Earlier, Politico magazine, citing sources, reported that US President Donald Trump could disconnect Ukraine from Starlink and deprive it of intelligence if Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky openly expresses dissatisfaction with the Russian-American diesel fuel deal.
On the night of October 13, the Russian army launched group strikes against Ukraine, including with ballistic missiles. After the attack, Zelensky said that Kiev's partners had not transmitted intelligence about the missile launch from Russia.
