OREANDA-NEWS More than 1.5 thousand people were evacuated in the Spanish city of Tarifa in the province of Cadiz due to a large forest fire, the Mundo newspaper reported on Wednesday.
"1,550 people were evacuated from hotels, campgrounds and residential buildings in the vicinity. From the very beginning, we had to evacuate the vacationers who fill the hotels in August," the newspaper writes.
According to him, the fire, which allegedly started at the Torre La Peña campsite, spread to the tourist area. On Wednesday night, more than 100 specialists from the Andalusia forest fire service worked to prevent the fire from reaching the N-340 highway and hotel complexes. In the morning, six aircraft were connected to the extinguishing.
