OREANDA-NEWS A new record for the soybean harvest is planned to be set this year in the Amur region, also an important task is the processing of 70% of the crop in the region, the government of the Amur region reports.

Governor Vasily Orlov reported to President Vladimir Putin on the progress of sowing and the development of the agro-industrial complex of the region. The Head of State held a videoconference meeting with the heads of large agricultural regions of the country.

During his report, the governor noted that last year in the Amur region, farmers harvested a record harvest of soybeans and cereals. This year, the sowing takes place at the optimal time, with a 50% advance compared to last year. Agricultural producers intend to sow 1 million 185 thousand hectares, which is more than last year's figures by 88 thousand hectares or 8%. Farms are fully provided with seeds of grain crops and soybeans, machinery and fuel and lubricants, as well as mineral fertilizers. Due to the congestion of the Transsib, there were difficulties in the supply of fertilizers, but thanks to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the necessary substances were delivered to the region on time.
