Melanie stressed that everyone contributes to the organization of a new round of negotiations on Ukraine. "The accessibility of the Vatican and the Pope is very valuable," she stressed.

The Italian prime minister added that there are different options for a technical-level dialogue on Ukraine, so it is necessary to check their feasibility and accessibility of participants.

"Regardless of dates and locations, the priority is serious negotiations in which all interlocutors want to demonstrate their willingness to progress and achieve a ceasefire and peace," she added.

Earlier, Pope Leo XIV announced his readiness to host negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in the Vatican. Also, after a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump said that the Holy See wants to organize peace talks.
