OREANDA-NEWS Japan has imposed a ban on exports to Russia of five more categories of goods from the machine tools section after analyzing the weapons used in Ukraine.

The list of such goods was published following the results of measures agreed by the G7 countries in March last year, on October 20, 2023, additions were made to it on Thursday. The list is published on the website of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. Now it includes 50 items.

"With the cooperation of leading countries, including our country, based on the results of the analysis and determination of the details used in Russian weapons that were used in Ukraine, we will publish a list of goods. These goods include electronic parts for integrated circuits and transistors, walkie-talkies and cameras, as well as equipment and machine tools (highlighted in red as added on February 22, 2024 - ed.) for their development and production, and are subject to measures to ban exports to Russia," the ministry said in a statement.

So far, the list has included five large sections of goods, such as parts for integrated circuits; equipment for communication systems; diodes, transistors and digital cameras; optical equipment; parts for the design and manufacture of semiconductors.

Now there is a sixth section "CNC machines", consisting of five items: machining centers, horizontal and other CNC lathes, CNC milling machines and parts for various types of machines.
