OREANDA-NEWS  Japan has imposed a ban on the import of Russian diamonds from January 1, 2024. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Economy of the country.

As specified in the department, restrictive measures have been taken against non-industrial diamonds. They relate to unsorted diamonds, non-industrial diamonds, as well as rough, sawn or chipped.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy has introduced a new package of sanctions against 57 companies from Russia, 27 from Belarus. These measures will come into force on December 22.

Since August 9, the Asian country has banned the import into Russia of cars with an engine volume of more than 1.9 liters, as well as hybrid and electric vehicles. New and used cars are subject to restrictions.
