OREANDA-NEWS   Coal mining enterprises of the Kemerovo region will produce approximately 196 million tons of coal in 2024, the governor of the region Ilya Seredyuk said on a direct line and noted that this is less than in 2023.

In 2023, 214.2 million tons of coal were mined in Kuzbass. Thus, the indicator will decrease by 8.4%.

Seredyuk added that the regional budget has already received 56 billion rubles in income tax due to the situation in the coal industry. "By the end of the year, we predict that this figure will be minus 65 billion rubles, this is a huge amount of money for the region, they constrain our development opportunities," the governor stressed.

In January-October 2024, coal mining enterprises in the region reduced coal production by 8.2% compared to the same period in 2023 - to 163.8 million tons. The data for January-November has not yet been disclosed.
