OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Brazil's Mauro Vieira discussed issues of bilateral strategic partnership at a meeting in Nizhny Novgorod, "checked the clock" on a number of international issues, including Ukrainian issues, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The two-day meeting of the BRICS foreign ministers is taking place in Nizhny Novgorod, the Russian delegation is headed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"The heads of the foreign ministries also "checked the clock" on a number of international and regional issues, including Ukrainian issues," reads a statement published on the agency's website.

They noted that the parties had an interested, constructive exchange of views on topical issues of bilateral strategic partnership.

"The main directions of cooperation between Moscow and Brasilia on international platforms were discussed, first of all, in the BRICS and the Group of Twenty in the light of the cross-chairmanship of our countries in these associations this year," the Foreign Ministry added.
