OREANDA-NEWS  Western countries have launched a full-scale war against states pursuing a sovereign policy. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, RIA Novosti reports.

"A full-scale war has been launched by [the West] against states defending their sovereignty and pursuing a nationally oriented domestic and foreign policy course. It is also aimed at outright falsification of history," the diplomat noted.

Lavrov added that Western countries "have repeatedly openly flouted international law." In particular, he recalled their aggression against Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, the US military operation in Venezuela in January 2026, as well as the conflict with Iran.

Earlier, Lavrov said that Western countries are only pursuing the goal of punishing Russia at all costs. The minister stressed that Moscow never "punishes anyone and always treats its duties in good faith."
