OREANDA-NEWS The positive trend towards an increase in life expectancy in Russia continues, for the first quarter of 2023, the indicator was 73.31 years, said Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.

"Life expectancy has increased at a fairly high rate, which by the end of 2022 amounted to 72.8 years... This trend continues. Now, for the first quarter, this indicator amounted to 73.31 years," Golikova said at an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

She clarified that the overall mortality rate in Russia has also decreased by 22% over the period 2022. According to the results of two months of 2023, it also demonstrates a steady downward trend. According to Golikova, despite the positive trends, it is necessary to work more actively in all areas of providing medical care to citizens.
