OREANDA-NEWS  The Lithuanian Seimas has launched a mechanism for introducing universal conscription for military service, approving the relevant reform project. This is reported by TASS.

The deputies sent the draft to the parliamentary committees for consideration, after which the document will return to the meeting room for voting.

The parliament also stated that in the context of the current geopolitical situation, it would be useful for Lithuanian youth to gain not only school knowledge, but also military skills.

Earlier it became known about Lithuania's readiness to send military personnel to Ukraine on a training mission. It is noted that the Ukrainian side did not ask for this.
