OREANDA-NEWS  Emmanuel Macron demanded that every effort be made to eliminate the fuel crisis, said the official representative of the French Cabinet of Ministers, Maude Brejon.

"The President of the Republic has asked the government for full mobilization to ensure supplies, on the one hand, and to control prices, on the other," she said at a briefing.

Last week, French Finance Minister Roland Lescure admitted that fuel prices, which had jumped after the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, would remain high for a long time. The cost of diesel in the country has reached 2.3 euros per liter, and gasoline — 2.1 euros, which is on average almost 30 percent more than before the crisis.

Before that, the Communist Party's presidential candidate Fabien Roussel called for a repeat of the "yellow vests" actions. Information about a possible demonstration on October 17 began to spread on social networks. According to media reports, French security services have increased their vigilance after calls for the resumption of protests.
