"To present products directly to foreign buyers, discuss supplies and find new partners – such opportunities were provided at the international purchasing session in St. Petersburg. Manufacturers of beverages and snack products discussed with importers the assortment, terms of supply, access to foreign retail chains and prospects for concluding export contracts. The participation of companies from different regions made it possible to present customers with a wider selection of Russian products," the report says.
The purchase session was held under the national brand "Made in Russia", which plays an important role in promoting domestic products abroad. It increases the recognition of Russian manufacturers and helps build confidence in their products, which is the basis for new partnerships and export deals.
The event was attended by 11 foreign companies from 5 countries – China, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Uzbekistan, as well as 31 Russian manufacturers from 5 regions of the country – St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Kaliningrad, Moscow region and Komi Republic. In total, more than 180 business negotiations were held during the session.
In addition, foreign buyers visited several Russian enterprises, where they saw the production process live, got acquainted with the technologies and the range of enterprises. Such visits allow customers to evaluate the production capabilities of future partners and get to know the product better, and personal acquaintance with the production builds trust and helps make decisions about cooperation.
The session was opened by Natalia Minaeva, Director of Regional Export Support Infrastructure Development at the Russian Export Center, and Olga Goryshina, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade of St. Petersburg.
"The purchasing sessions give Russian manufacturers the opportunity to directly present their products to foreign buyers and discuss the prospects for cooperation. For some companies, such meetings open up new export destinations, while for others they become the first step into the international market. I wish all participants productive negotiations, new partners and, most importantly, successful export contracts," Natalia Minaeva said.
"For export development, it is important to understand the needs of foreign markets and create conditions for the promotion of Russian products. A support system has been built in St. Petersburg that accompanies enterprises at all stages of foreign economic activity, from finding buyers to implementing export contracts. Our task is to help manufacturers strengthen their positions in international markets and develop stable trade relations," Olga Goryshina said.
