Mazda wants to register a trademark in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS The Russian branch of the Japanese automobile concern Mazda wants to register a trademark in Russia, RIA Novosti found out after studying the electronic database of Rospatent.
According to the documents, the application for registration of the Mazda trademark was received by the agency in May. Under this brand, the company wants to sell passenger cars and sports cars, gasoline and electric batteries, as well as locate its car dealerships and provide car rental and vehicle repair services.
In November 2022, the Japanese automobile concern Mazda sold its stake in a joint venture with the Sollers automotive group in Vladivostok. The agreement provided for the possibility of repurchase within three years. In early November 2025, the Sollers press service told RIA Novosti that Mazda had not exercised the option and in October lost the opportunity to return the Russian asset.
