As explained in the department, Dolgopolov, being outside the Russian Federation, no later than December 20, 2024, "publicly made a statement aimed at insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, humiliating the honor and dignity of veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as belittling the significance of their feat."
In this regard, the prosecutors raised the issue of initiating a criminal case against Dolgopolov.
A source familiar with the situation told Interfax that the issue would be resolved soon.
