OREANDA-NEWS  The shortage of personnel in the healthcare sector in Russia for doctors is about 25 thousand, for average medical personnel - within 50 thousand people, said the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko.

"The shortage of personnel for doctors is about 25 thousand people, 25-26 thousand, within these limits. For average (medical - IF) personnel - within 50 thousand. This is the deficit that exists in the industry today," Murashko said at the "government hour" in the State Duma on Wednesday.

According to the minister, "this is not a critical deficit, but it is important."

Murashko said that this deficit is primarily noted in the primary level in rural healthcare. This is a priority area.

"In hospitals in the city, in general, there is usually no shortage. With the exception of anesthesiologists-resuscitators. There is a huge demand for them today," he said.
