OREANDA-NEWS  In January, Russia set a historical record for gasoline exports at the level of 205.5 thousand barrels per day, Vedomosti writes, citing data from the analytical company Kpler. Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which have become the main buyers, have helped the country to sharply increase supplies abroad in the last four months.

Traditionally, Russian gasoline was exported in small volumes, and the main export fuels for Russia were diesel and fuel oil. For example, in 2021, domestic oil companies sold abroad only 4 million tons of gasoline out of 41 million tons produced.

Deliveries began to grow sharply in December 2022. They doubled compared to November and added 50 percent in annual terms, amounting to 185.9 thousand barrels per day. After the January peak, exports decreased slightly: in February, daily deliveries were at the level of 199.8 thousand barrels, from March 1 to March 21 — 181.8 thousand barrels.
