OREANDA-NEWS  Russia and the United Arab Emirates are exploring the possibility of using Russian equipment in UAE energy projects. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, his words are quoted by Prime.

According to the official, before direct use in UAE energy projects, such equipment will have to undergo a certification procedure. At the same time, Novak did not disclose the names of specific projects of the Middle Eastern country in which the possibility of using Russian equipment is being considered.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that the UAE is one of the most important energy partners for the Russian Federation, and the countries have the necessary potential for further development of strategic relations. Both countries participate in various industry associations, including the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries and other energy formats. Against this background, Novak expressed hope for further constructive cooperation with the UAE.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said it was important to reorient Russian energy exports "from West to East." To do this, a number of conditions must be created in the country, including the creation and modernization of port and pipeline infrastructure, as well as the construction of new capacities for the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and its processing.
