OREANDA-NEWS Currently, there is an increase in consumption of all types of energy resources in the world, in particular, there is a revival in demand for the development of nuclear power plants, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Vedomosti newspaper on the eve of the SPIEF.

"We are witnessing the transformation of the energy market, where, against the background of accelerating energy consumption, accelerated growth is observed in all types of energy resources, both traditional - oil, gas, coal, and renewable energy sources. There is a renaissance in demand for the development of nuclear power plants," he said.

The key drivers were population growth in developing countries and the extensive development of data processing systems, all against the background of the introduction of artificial intelligence, Novak noted.
