OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak commented on the consequences of sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia. He spoke about this in an interview with journalist Hedley Gamble for Al Arabiya TV channel.

Novak assessed the impact of sanctions on the Russian economy and stressed that the restrictions could not isolate it.

"These unilateral restrictions were imposed where, I would say, the economy cannot be isolated, so we cooperate with friendly countries, and are also able to interact and cooperate with many other countries," he said.

Earlier, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that sanctions have become one of the key factors in the development of the Russian economy. Thus, he commented on the information that Russia has entered the top 4 world economies in terms of purchasing power parity.
