OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed to work on the expansion of Khabarovsk CHPP-1, the modernization of Komsomolskaya CHPP-2 and the construction of energy storage systems in the Far East in conjunction with the development of renewable energy, the Russian government said.

Novak held a meeting on the development of the Far East's energy system, where measures were considered to cover the growing demand for electricity. In particular, proposals for the modernization of existing power plants were discussed: Yakutskaya GRES, Artemovskaya TPP and Vostochnaya TPP, the construction of new generating facilities in Yakutia and the construction of a 500 kV Khabarovsk-Komsomolskaya high-voltage power transmission line.
