OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak rejected claims that the country is in a war economy. He said this in an interview with journalist Hedley Gamble for Al Arabiya TV channel.

"I don't think this is a military economy. This is a supply—side economy in which we are developing to cover all needs, including social ones, investing in high-tech industries so that traditional industries work sustainably," the politician said.

According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin has set the task for the country's economy to develop above the global average, and currently this is being achieved.

Earlier, Kirill Tremasov, director of the Monetary Policy Department of the Bank of Russia, said that the overheating of the Russian economy is now at its peak, and the trajectory of the upcoming slowdown in the business cycle is a matter of careful study by the regulator.
