OREANDA-NEWS  It is not yet possible to say whether the summit of Russia and the United States in Budapest will lead to an early settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the air of the Kosuth radio station.

"The Budapest Peace summit will take place. It is not yet known whether this will be a peace summit at which a solution will be found, or just an important stage leading to peace," the politician said.

Earlier, Orban said that the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, could meet within a few days. To do this, the parties have to resolve one or two issues by agreeing on positions on the Ukrainian conflict.

After it, depending on the agreement of the parties, a cease-fire and peace in Ukraine may follow, the politician added.
