OREANDA-NEWS In Dagestan and Chechnya, flood victims were paid more than 672 million rubles in compensation, the Federal Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
"In both regions, citizens received social benefits and financial assistance for 20,000 applications," the report says.
In the republics, out of almost 11,900 damaged households, more than 8,700 buildings were examined. It was recognized that 834 houses cannot be restored, about 2.1 thousand houses require major repairs, and more than 5.9 thousand houses are considered habitable.
In both regions, work is being completed to restore water supply, clean private homes and surrounding areas from the effects of flooding. In addition, measures are continuing to restore transport links on municipal road sections: there are access roads to all settlements, the ministry said.
More than 2,000 specialists and almost 360 pieces of equipment, including a helicopter from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, are working to eliminate the consequences of bad weather in Dagestan and Chechnya, with the coordination of the interdepartmental operational headquarters.
