OREANDA-NEWS Exports of goods from Iran to Russia increased by 30% year-on-year. This was reported by the ISNA agency with reference to the data of the customs of Iran. The data covers the period from March 2022 to March 2023.

During this period, Russia bought 1.419 million tons of goods worth $743.882 million from Iran. In addition, Russia has risen from 11th to 10th place in the list of the largest importers. Most of all, Russia imported goods of the category "parts of turbojet or turboprop engines, except for fixed and movable blades of gas turbines." This category of goods accounts for $68 million, or 9.21% of the value of all goods.

On May 19, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitry Volvach reported that in 2022 the volume of trade turnover with Iran increased by 20% in annual terms — up to $ 5 billion.

In addition to increasing trade turnover, Russia and Iran are engaged in the development of joint business. Thus, the Iranian company "Sarin Toys" is considering the possibility of building an enterprise in Bashkiria for the production of about 70 items of children's goods. Russia will provide Iran with a state loan of €1.3 billion out of €1.6 billion of its cost for the construction of the missing section of the Rasht—Astara railways in Iran.
