Patrushev spoke about the growth of agricultural products turnover with Belarus

OREANDA-NEWS The trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and Belarus, according to preliminary data, increased by 15% in 2024, exceeding $ 8 billion, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said.
"Cooperation between Russia and Belarus is expanding in a number of areas, including agriculture. They clarified that both mutual trade and joint development of foreign markets demonstrate stable growth. The countries are also successfully cooperating in the field of seed production, the office of the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
"In the field of ecology and nature management, active work is being carried out within the framework of a joint board of relevant departments. Following the results of the last meeting, a program of cooperation on environmental protection and rational use of natural resources for a three-year period was signed," the message says.
The office of the Deputy Prime Minister also recalled that a roadmap for cross-border water cooperation was approved in 2024. It includes 119 measures aimed at preserving and restoring the water bodies of the Dnieper and Western Dvina basins. "Through the Intergovernmental Council of the CIS, Russia and Belarus are taking measures to improve the geological study of border areas, including monitoring of groundwater. This will increase the efficiency of field exploitation," Patrushev's office concluded.
