OREANDA-NEWS Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in a comment to Izvestia, said that the statement by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg about strikes on Russian territory with Western weapons is provocative, noting that there are "hotheads" in the West who allow such statements.

The press secretary of the president noted that Moscow records the lack of unity in the West on the issue of strikes by their weapons on Russian territory.

"There are hotheads who make absolutely irresponsible, provocative statements, to which I refer the recent statement by Mr. Stoltenberg," Peskov said.

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation added that there are those in the West who "wonder whether it is necessary to continue escalating like this."
